Areas of application

Simply point the pole indicator of the electric pole tester at the object and press the button. The red LED indicates a north pole, the green one a south pole. With this clear identification, there is absolutely no risk of confusing the poles. Pole testers are essential for the following applications:

Coil testing: A coil carrying a current usually produces a magnetic field. The pole tester indicates whether the magnetic field is actually present and whether the coil is working properly. A lack of magnetism indicates an interrupted winding or a faulty power supply.
Magnetization testing: The pole tester helps to check the degree of magnetization of a material or component. It detects whether a magnetized object has an adequate and uniform magnetic field. For example, the inspector can confirm whether the desired magnetization has been achieved in the production of magnetic components.
Defect inspection in motors: A magnetic field tester can be used to diagnose defects in electric motors, as electric motors generate magnetic poles that can be localized by the magnetic field tester.
Searching for magnetic fields in packaging: The magnetic field tester is also useful for finding magnetic fields in packaging, as the tester reacts to magnetic fields generated by magnets in packaging.
