Areas of application

SmCo magnets (samarium cobalt magnets) are highly resistant to temperature fluctuations and corrosion and are extremely resistant to demagnetisation. These properties make them ideal for long-lasting, high-performance applications in demanding environments:

  • Automotive industry: SmCo magnets are used in ABS systems to accurately monitor wheel speed, which is essential for the functioning of the anti-lock braking system. They are also used in the electric motors of hybrid and electric vehicles, where their high performance and efficiency are impressive. SmCo magnets are a long-lasting and reliable solution in actuators, such as those needed for precise control of seat adjustments or side mirrors.
  • Electronics: In electrical engineering, SmCo raw magnets are in particular demand due to their high magnetic force and small size. They are used in micromotors, where they enable high performance despite their compact size, and are therefore used in devices such as cameras or small household appliances. SmCo magnets are also widely used in sensor technology, particularly in magnetic field sensors and magnetoresistive components, which are needed for precise measurement and control.
